Post Window tint removal
I know its been a long time since I have posted on here but figured this was the best place to ask. I'm starting to get my iroc back up and running and I'm tired of looking at the crappy tint on the hatch. I have tried peeling and getting under it but I swear this stuff was installed in the 80s. Is there any recommended products to get it to come free? Or am I stuck chipping away at it....

Peel it off and use something like this to remove the adhesive left behind...

It's not going to be fun especially since you probably have a defogger and can't use a razor blade.

I heard that Windex helps take the tint off, actually. You'll definitely want an adhesive remover like goo gone, like Tom mentioned.

When I had to do it I used a razor blade to get the old tint off. After that I used rubbing alcohol to get all of the adhesive off.

The rubbing alcohol gels it up and you can use a razor blade to scrape off the adhesive pretty easily.

Hope this helps.

I do believe I will be finding myself on my days off with a set of razor blades trying to get the old tint off. Thanks for the adhesive advice guys!

Tom - The car doesn't have the defogging strips on it so one less thing I have to worry about with it.

For window tint, I've heard a simple ammonia / water mix will help.
The best thing I've found to remove any kind of adhesive is 3M wax and adhesive remover. It's sold in a spray can with item #03618.
