Post 1999 Chevy Tahoe LS
Decided to try and peddle Ol' Bessie again. I don't want to sell it with the level of investment I have in it, but I have nowhere to keep it in NJ and it is just sitting around in NY. She's not the prettiest but has a crap ton of new parts on her and would make a good winter vehicle/spare. Price is $2500 OBO. Below are details with rough estimates on what has been invested. I have most of the receipts to go with it. I drove this truck to Florida last year with no concerns.
Details: 1999 Tahoe LS 4DR, 4WD 5.7 Vortec 350 198K
Viper Remote start ($600)
Front and rear A/C (No rear heat feature)
Auto 4WD
Power everything
Leather seats
Sweet ass multi function gauge (Tach, MPH, MPG)
I've had it for 2 years, so everything listed below has been replaced:
Steering box ($350)
Steering linkage (tie rod to tie rod) ($400)
All ball joints ($250)
Upper control arms ($225)
P/S pump (variable assist) ($150)
P/S hoses ($50)
Front brakes (Pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, replaced these early, have about 30K on them) ($475)
Shocks (Bilstein HD's) ($400)
Leaf Springs/shackles ($325)
All suspension bushings, sway bar bushings w/ exception of lower control arms ($210)
Front axle Rebuilt (Yukon Gear parts) ($600)
New CV shafts ($250)
Rear Axle rebuilt (Yukon Gear parts) ($1100)
New Felxplate/torque converter ($325(
New Transmisison (not rebuilt, Heavy duty unit from Phoenix Trans) ($3500)
Heavy Duty Driveshafts (Denny's) ($675)
Cap, rotor, HEI, plugs, wires, coil ($150)
GM Performance Parts Spider injection assembly (Replaces Poppets with actual fuel injectors) ($395)
Gaskets from intake manifold up ($35)
Valve covers -FREE
Catalytic converters (Magnaflow, dual, stainless) ($475)
Cat back exhaust and hangers (Flowmaster, aluminized) ($325)
Battery was replaced 2 months ago (Diehard Gold AGM) ($150)
Battery cable (positive) ($25)
-A/C is ALL new with the exception of the condensor and the front evaporator, the notoriously bad aluminum lines from the front to the rear have all been replaced with high pressure rubber, so they will not rot again ($2500)
Fan, fan switch, blower and relay are new ($150)
Water pump ($50)
Alternator (New not rebuilt) ($225)
Radiator hoses ($50)
Thermostat ($15)
Heater hoses ($30)
Heater control valve ($30)
Fan Clutch ($40)
Left Front Hub (Timken) ($200)
Aftermarket radio, and speakers
Maybe some more odds and ends, but that is the big stuff.
Downside: Needs tires within a year. There is still a twitch in the steering, I think it is in the column. Everything from the column to the front wheels has been replaced, and I mean EVERYTHING. Will need rear brakes (drums/shoes) soon (Included). Has a persistent misfire that started a few months ago, could be ignition, could be in the engine. Still runs good but it idles a little rough and at low RPM you get some vibration, sometimes. Some Clearcoat on hood, and some on the roof, is gone. Leaks a little coolant but I have not been able to find the leak. Front blower switch has a short on the controller, I can show you the exact wire that is the issue, have not had time to fix it. Also a new control box will come with it but the wire needs to be fixed or the blower shuts off from time to time until you jiggle the wire. Rear door lock cylinder is seized up (Included) so I have the lock disconnected. Can be locked from inside the truck. Driver door solenoid is getting tired (Included). Door unlocks with the key but sometimes the keyless entry won't unlock it all the way. Pinion seal has developed a slight leak. The remote start is aftermarket (Viper). It also has a 2 way remote so even if you can't see the vehicle it will tell you if it started and/or shut off.
Extra stuff I have:
Extra headlight housings
Extra OE 16" wheel (No Tire Spare was rotten on it so I got this to replace it) ($100)
NEG Battery cable ($25)
Timken front hub ($200)
Rear Brakes (Drums, shoes hardware and wheel cylinders) ($400)
Front AC Control Box ($150)
RF Door Actuator ($50)
Barn door Actuator ($80)

Will include old T-Case if you want it, needs a new chain tensioner but is otherwise good
Other odds and ends, small stuff, whatever else I find
I've tried to identify any issues as best I can, but keep in mind this is a 1999 with almost 200K on it. It has some creaks and rattles and there is always the possibility something else could break. I think it's solid, anyone who knows me knows I won't BS you and I take good care of my vehicles. I think it has a lot of life and miles left in it, but I promise nothing ;-). The truck is in the Pawling area, it is registered and inspected so you can feel free to take a drive in it. Also has a clear NY title (no accidents, no salvage title etc)
I'm sure I am forgetting some stuff, so ask away.
